Statedancer is a band made up of four members. Matt and Rob have been writing songs for a few years before band got all parts together to rehearse in Matt's Cellar in Sale, Manchester from March 2004, with first gigs beginning in November of that year upstairs at the Internet Cafe 'Fuel' in Withington. The lads knew Kirstie quite a few years beforehand - Kirst had dallied in quite a few bands in the 90s- as guitarist and singer, then Rob met the drummer, Nic while working in a Call Centre in Manchester in 2003. Once gigs began - all around Manchester - then venturing out of the city - into London, Liverpool and elsewhere - there was a few interviews with the BBC GMR, Phil Jupitus reviewed their song Milkman Murders, on BBC Radio 6, Paul Gambaccini reviewed their cd and the band received regular airplay from Clint Boon on his The Revolution radio station based in Oldham. 2006 has found them writing new material, hoping to find support slots to give them a leg up on to the next rung of this very tricky ladder. A Statedancer Podcast is now available to download on Itunes. We are also on the following website under the indie section!
